Farewell

So after a lot of thought, I have decided to stop posting to this blog.  I have another blog that is family centered and a bit more of a mommy blog.

I sometimes feel bad posting random baby cuteness on this blog and now have pretty much stopped posting here completely.

I loved this blog, but I am still following all of your blogs and trying to comment when possible!

Avery's First Christmas

I just loved this Christmas and I cannot imagine how awesome it will be when she gets older and more aware of what is going on!

So on Christmas Eve we opened our presents as a family of three!

Last but not least, Avery as a reindeer!  She endured a lot of outfit changes, but she was a champ and her first Christmas was a success!

Avery is amazing!!!!!
she is "talking" lots of coos and squeals, it is sooo cute
she is starting to giggle, it isn't all the time, but grandma makes it happen more than we do
she is doing better with entertaining herself now, mostly with her hands
she is holding her head up really well and can lay on her tummy and really support herself
her hair is growing a bit more in the natural light it looks blonde and in any other light she looks brunette
her eyes are lightening up a bit, but are still a beautiful blue
she still likes her paci to fall asleep with but doesn't need it much any other time
we have to put dark Karo syrup in 2 of her bottles to her her have loose stools
she still hates tummy time and only tolerates it for about 2 minutes at a time

Lessons learned
it really helps her to sleep longer if we "top her off" right before bed

Size
Not sure about either, but I know she is over 13 pounds and over 23 inches.  She is getting sooo long!

Eating
She eats at 10am, 2pm, 6pm (all 6 ounces), a top off at 8 or 9 (2 ounces) and another 6 ounces whenever she wakes up (between 4 and 7).

Sleep
She is getting a bit more consistent with her sleeping through the night!  She will fall asleep (on one of us) between 8 and 9.  We will swaddle her and put her down.  Sometimes she stays asleep, sometimes she wakes up and we let her cry for a few minutes and then go in and comfort her.  Sometimes we only need to comfort her once sometimes this lasts for 45 minutes.  The length has really started to decrease though!


She isn't on a nap schedule, the closest thing to it, is usually falling asleep after her 10am feeding!

Random
She loves to be out and about.  She is so well behaved.  She just takes everything in! Her head is going in all directions and her eyes are huge!!!!

What do you do to get your babe to giggle, I would love to hear her giggle more often!

Visiting Santa

We took Avery to meet Santa yesterday!

I figure next year she might be in Stranger Danger mode and won't like it, so this might be my last chance for two years!

We got to the mall early to drop off my company's Angel Tree donations and then stood in line.  Avery slept through everything, we had to wake her up when it was her turn!  Why can't she sleep like that at night?

So when I first handed her over she started crying, but then just kind of sat there like "What the hell?"

And then she got bored with it.

So we got her pictures and gave her the bottle before we went to dinner.

One Year Ago

A year ago I was in the middle of my last BFN cycle (I obviously didn't know it at the time).

I was so excited because I could test on December 23rd.  I thought, what an AMAZING Christmas present!

However, it didn't work out that way.  I was devastated.  It was the worst BFN I had had yet.  It was the first month of trying after my HSG and the nurse told me that sooo many people get pregnant the month after.  I thought her saying that was a sign.

I am so grateful that the next month was a BFP!  But I am writing this because I know how hard the holidays can be for someone in the midst of IF.  Just remember that things can change sooo quickly.

I am thinking of and praying for everyone wishing for their Christmas miracle this year.
